Poppy

A new evening gown just joined the back to black group.

I had this crinkly fabric for a long while, yet I have never found the right use for it. Till now.

I love the color and decided to make the bottom of the dress, the tail, with this fabric.

I ordered some silk dupioni in similar color, but it was not a match, so I ironed the fabric, and to my surprise and excitement, it ironed beautifully so I used it for the top of the dress.

The fabric is silk, taffeta and it has some crispiness to it which works great for this dress.

The dress fashions a sweetheart neckline, a mermaid shape which flares to the bulbus shirred bottom.

I attached red tulle to the inside lining, making it shorter at the hem line and attached the top to the tulle, thus accomplishing the round hem line.

It looks like a poppy, hence the name of the dress.

The dress is lined with black silk dupioni, has a zipper and a hook in the back.

The gloves are made of red stretch fabric and have four fingers.

I tried the five fingers glove but for some reason it did not work, so I am back to the four.

Hey, it’s better than the mitten.

The necklace and earrings are made from various red seed beads.

The dress comes with red shiny mid cuff shoes.

Doll is not included.
